Australian Gold Medallion Lifeguard Training at Le Meridien Phuket

    PHUKET, THAILAND, June 15, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort, a multi award-winning property on Phuket's south western coast, is scheduled to host a series of rigorous Surf-life and Life-saving training sessions in June and July 2010.

A five-day Basic to Intermediate Course will be held from 05-09 July 2010. Advanced programmes and re-certification for bronze and gold medallion standard courses will take place from 28-30 June and another on 12-14 July 2010.

Le Meridien Phuket is the only resort in Thailand that provides both pool and beach surf-lifesaving training. To assist in elevating the general level of water safety on Phuket, the Resort has opened these previously exclusive training sessions to the public.

All training sessions are conducted and supervised by David Field, a renowned water safety expert from Australia. Mr. Field has over 20 years' experience in lifesaving and is an assessor for Surf Life Saving Australia. He brings with him extensive knowledge and experience, the most current techniques, materials and practices from Australia to share with his students. This is coupled with 10 years' experience training Thai lifeguards to Australian standards in Thai conditions. He has annually conducted training at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort since 2001.

All training sessions are open to the public with a fee of THB 4,000 per participant.
