Author Michael Hicks Encourages Adventure and Unity in New Children's Book

    ATLANTA, GA, September 09, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Author Michael Christopher Hicks is a young and talented writer/illustrator who has always been an avid storyteller. Inspired by classic fairy tales, Saturday morning cartoons, and epic fantasies, Michael began writing and drawing at a young age.

The author has several nieces and nephews who are an inspiration for the first of a planned series of books on adventure, friendship and unity. The book is entitled "Tales of Drake: Tale of the Lost Dog" and is written about a boy dragon that loses his pet dog and his quest to find him in a dark and unfamiliar forest. It's a very colorful and captivating story of friendship, adventure and unity.

Michael believes that a positive and inspiring message combined with fun storytelling and illustrations is a great way to influence young minds. Growing up as a child, Michael always enjoyed the more positive characters in cartoons and the books he read, which he states, "The energetic and adventurous characters I knew as a kid encouraged me to become the outgoing and healthy individual I am today."

The series will encourage youngsters to keep a positive view on the various challenges they face in life, as well as a can-do attitude, the importance of family, friendship and unity.

Michael Christopher Hicks lives in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended the Savannah College of Art and Design and is currently an independent writer and illustrator. He is athletic and loves to run, swim and play several sports including football. He is currently studying French and plans to travel the world.
