The book highlights issues raised during their conferences from in-depth surveys of over 2000 couples who have attended their events.

After meeting on a blind date over 23 years ago, Jay and Laura were engaged only ten days later. Before starting their conferences in 1995, Jay Laffoon served as an Executive Director in Youth for Christ for 15 years. Both he and Laura are certified instructors from Dynamic Communications International. Jay also serves as chaplain for the PGA Tour. Laura grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Montreat Anderson College and Belhaven College in Jackson, MS, graduating with a degree in Social Ministries. She served as the National Director of Youth for Christ's Junior High division where she received the organization's highest honor--the Presidential Award for Excellence.
