Avik Pal Inducted into Worldwide Who's Who for Excellence in Information Technology

Mr. Pal has 14 years of experience in information technology in various enterprise applications and technologies. He is currently the Chapter President at IIT Foundation, and an Advisor at iKure Techsoft Pvt. Ltd. IIT Foundation is the alumni association of IIT Kharagpur, and promotes excellence in all disciplines at the institute and to its alumni around the world. As Chapter President, Mr. Pal helps with initiatives such as fund-raising for advanced research in science & technology, organizing alumni events and participating in institutional development activities. Mr. Pal also lends his areas of expertise in technology, business development and healthcare, to iKure Techsoft Pvt. Ltd., a social-entrepreneurship startup, focused on sustainable rural healthcare delivery. iKure has developed a tablet/smartphone based platform that helps doctors in urban hospitals to connect with patients in rural areas using a Hub & Spoke model. iKure has established a sustainable healthcare delivery in rural India, by taking healthcare to its last mile, and was the recipient of Frost & Sullivan India Healthcare Excellence Awards 2012 as "mHealth Initiative of the Year".

Also on Mr. Pal's busy schedule are his responsibilities with NTT Data Corporation where he currently works as a Program Manager. Part of his daily tasks include managing teams that work on multiple projects at a time, helping with hiring for his team, providing sales support, and also providing enterprise software quality solutions for various clients around the world. Prior to undertaking his multiple current endeavors, Mr. Pal worked as a Senior Manager, Global Delivery at FocusFrame (acquired by Hexaware Technologies).

Recognized for his contributions to information technology and health care, Mr. Pal attributes his success to being honest, having integrity and passion, and exceling in his work in rural and social contexts. He became involved in the profession by concentrating on information technology as an undergraduate. After earning an MBA, he began his career in Silicon Valley, and throughout the years, has acquired extensive experience in areas such as consulting, global delivery management, and building client relationships with various Fortune 500 companies across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.

Mr. Pal holds a Bachelor's Degree in Ocean Engineering and Naval Architecture from Indian Institute of Technology and an MBA in e-Commerce and Operations Management from University of San Francisco, where he was awarded the 'McLaren Fellowship'. He has actively volunteered with ASHA, a nonprofit organization devoted to providing basic education to underprivileged children in India. He is also actively involved with an initiative to solve persistent problems in HIV prevention around the world. Because of his strong interest in social initiatives, he plans to focus his attention more on social healthcare in the future. During his spare time, Mr. Pal enjoys painting, golfing and playing the guitar. A world traveler at heart, he has visited more than 25 countries around the world, including an expedition to Antarctica.
