BURLINGTON, VT, May 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Burlington's Borders has opened the door to some fascinating conversation on Sunday, May 30th. From 12 to 2PM, Cynthia and Kent Gustavson, the mother and son duo who happen to sport the titles of award-winning poet and bestselling author respectively, will join customers of the Burlington Borders at 29 Church Street for a midday meet and greet. Lucky patrons can stop by to discuss controversial poetry, the importance of teaching children tolerance, and even to garner never-before-heard tidbits about music legend Doc Watson that Kent picked up during his 75-plus interviews with some of the music industry's biggest names.

In fact, bestselling author Kent Gustavson's newest title, Blind But Now I See, is packed with never-before released details about Doc Watson, the flatpicking legend who inspired Bob Dylan, Robert Plant and Alison Krauss. With quotes from President Bill Clinton to Prairie Home Companion's Pat Donohue, Blind But Now I See is brimming over with fascinating tidbits that have already had the Doc Watson community waiting on edge for the book's release.

Award-winning poet Cynthia Gustavson will be joining her son to talk about her controversial children's book, Ballad of the Rag Man. Already nominated for the Indie Excellence Book Awards, Ballad of the Rag Man teaches children tolerance of people who are different from themselves, and also shows them the importance of an environmental attitude.

But it's Cynthia Gustavson's newest release, her poetry book Please Use This for Children and Not for War and Guns, that truly stirs things up. From an activist poem about the simple letter that she sent to the government along with her family's taxes, to a poem about the red-haired child who grows up to be gay, this new collection of her recent poems confronts issues seldom tackled in mainstream poetry.

Stop by the Borders at 29 Church Street, Burlington, Vermont on Sunday, May 30th, from 12 to 2PM for some good conversation with Kent and Cynthia Gustavson, and also to get your own copies of their books signed by the authors.
