/24-7PressRelease/ - August 11, 2007 - Babya today announced that it will support the OpenDocument format in Babya software.
The standard was developed by a technical committee of the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) consortium and based upon the XML format originally created and implemented by the OpenOffice.org office suite. As well as an OASIS Standard, it is a published ISO and IEC International Standard, ISO/IEC 26300:2006.[1] The OpenDocument standard meets the common definitions of an open standard, meaning the specification is freely available and implementable.
Babya E-Type 2008 (version 5.0) will be the first Babya to support the OpenDocument format via a new file conversion utility, powered by OpenOffice.org).
Babya's Alvin Novick, the product manager for Babya's digital media division saId, "Babya E-Type is being refreshed today with a amazing new feature:OpenDocument format conversion."

Pricing and Availability:
The first Babya software-E-Type version 5.0 with OpenDocument will ship as a free downloaded as part of bSuite 2008 in September.
