    MANCHESTER, NH, July 26, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Guest host Dr. Mark Green, of "One Hour At A Time" on VoiceAmerica's Health & Wellness Channel will be interviewing author, professor and psychiatrist Douglas Turkington, MD. Douglas Turkington, MD, is a liaison psychiatrist at the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle-upon-Tyne, UK. He is also Professor of Psychosocial Psychiatry in the School of Neurology, Neuroscience and Psychiatry at Newcastle University. A founding fellow of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, he presents widely on the topic of cognitive-behavioral therapy of schizophrenia, and is actively involved in treatment development and research. Turkington is also an accomplished author and his most recent book is titled 'Back to Life, Back to Normality'. The book discusses real life case studies and success stories to prove that sufferers of psychosis can be helped with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a psychotherapeutic approach that aims to influence problematic and dysfunctional emotions, behaviors and cognitions through a goal-oriented, systematic procedure. This book is specially designed to help sufferers and their families and to act as a resource for mental health professionals. There is space for self-reflection and comment, with exercises to help sufferers understand their symptoms, explore their own beliefs and feelings, and reflect on the way they cope.

About Dr. Mark Green:
Mark is the Medical Director for WestBridge. He obtained his medical degree at the University of London in 1993 and worked in internal medicine for several years before moving to the U.S. He completed his psychiatry residency in 1999 and then a Fellowship in Addiction Psychiatry, at New York Presbyterian Hospital, Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Green was an Assistant Professor at Cornell, working and teaching in dual diagnosis, and a research associate at Rockefeller University where he conducted research in the clinical neurobiology of addictive disease. In 2003, he relocated to the University of Vermont to become the first medical director of Vermont's first methadone clinic. Dr. Green moved to Massachusetts in 2004. In addition to his responsibilities at WestBridge, Dr. Green teaches at Harvard Medical School and participates in Psychiatric training programs, lectures on topics in Dual Diagnoses and publishes articles on neurobiology, collaborative psychopharmacology, and clinical management issues.
