After accruing many years of experience in the field of graphic design, Ms. Westbie retired from her role as an art consultant for Reed Gallery -- a position she held from 1988 to 1990. At the start of her career, she joined Ambiance, in Danville, Calif. as an executive director. Subsequently, she became the director of Lake Gallery in Tahoe City, Calif. Despite retiring in 1990, Ms. Westbie served as the art director and creative consultant for the Associated Students Re-Entry Center of Chico State University.
A student of the University of California, Davis, Miramar College, and Chabot College, Ms. Westbie studied graphic design in the 1970s and 1990s. An associate of the Smithsonian Institution, she has lent her services to the Project Mana Fundraising Event, for which she designed a poster and logo, and the Chocolate Festival, for which she designed a brochure. Throughout her career, she has been recognized many times for her work; she was named Volunteer of the Year by Tahoe Women's Services in 1989, and presented with a Distinguished Service Award from the same organization a year later. Additionally, Ms. Westbie has been featured in eight editions of Who's Who in America, the 21st through 26th editions of Who's Who in the World, and four editions of Who's Who of American Women.
