LORAIN, OH, November 26, 2008 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Barbara Kapucinski, Director of Magnet Schools Program at Lorain City Schools, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of elementary education.
Ms. Kapucinski has 32 years of professional experience. Her expertise lies in curriculum development and she is responsible for overseeing the school budget, marketing and the professional development of the staff of seven magnet schools. She became involved in her profession because she was inspired by her sixth-grade teacher. Prior to attaining her current post, she worked as a teacher at a Catholic elementary school and as a teacher, building manager and principal in the public school system. In fact, she notes that the highlight of her career was becoming an elementary school principal. She considers helping her students to succeed and knowing that she played a part in their development to be the most gratifying aspects of her career.
Ms. Kapucinski wrote articles that appeared in Religion Teacher's Journal, Catechist and Today's Catholic Teacher. She received her Master's Degree in Education and Reading from the University of Dayton in 1990 and her Bachelor of Arts in Education from the University of Notre Dame in 1978.
