BRISBANE, AUSTRALIA, July 17, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/
-- Barry Janke, Senior Engineer of Cable Services SEQ Engineering and Reliability for Queensland Rail, has been named a Worldwide Branding Professional of the Year in Engineering. While inclusion in Worldwide Branding is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Worldwide Branding membership.
Mr. Janke has 39 years of professional experience, with 15 years as a senior engineer of cable services for Queensland Rail. Over the years, he has established himself as an expert in the fields of electrical, mechanical and civil engineering, as well as negotiations with peers, consultants, contractors and field staff. On a daily basis, he is responsible for specifying cables, as well as designing and arranging the construction of mainly underground cable routes. Mr. Janke finds that most days offer new challenges and interests with regular opportunities to innovate or offer alternatives to better the system.
Looking back, Mr. Janke attributes his success to his interest in the profession. He finds the work interesting and challenging. Right from the beginning, after nine months on the job, he was involved in specifying and supervising infrastructure construction and standards. He became involved in his profession before leaving school. He applied to jobs in the field of electrical engineering, and noticed that the position for Queensland Rail was presented as different and challenging. The highlight of his career was the introduction of optical fibre cabling for telecommunications long-distance bearers in 1984.
Mr. Janke received a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering through the University of Southern Queensland in 1974. He is a member of Engineers Australia, as well as The Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists & Managers, Australia. In years to come, Mr. Janke intends to ensure that present jobs are completed successfully, as well as exploring other professional opportunities.
