"There's no fee to place an ad and there's no fee when you make a sale" said Manzo. "It's all free." And unlike auction sites, which can cause users to sell too low or buy too high, at Bay Area Classifieds, everyone always knows the selling price."
Another key feature that sets Bay Area Classifieds apart from other online classified sites is ease of use. "Because we're a local site, placing an ad with us is a simple process," says Manzo. Many other classified sites that claim to be local are really national sites trying to penetrate local markets. Because of this, posting an ad with them requires users to wade through an array of geographical options such as state, county, city and then in some cases even neighborhood.
Bay Area Classifieds caters exclusively to the nine-county, San Francisco, Bay Area. He plans to promote the local aspect of the site along with its high level of usability. "My goal is to provide Bay Area employers and users with a better choice for online classifieds.
