Be Careful as to what you take into your body
Warning: FDA Says Prescription Sleep Aids Can Cause Allergic Reactions

/24-7PressRelease/ - LOS ANGELES, CA, November 13, 2007 - In today's society, we put so many different chemicals into our bodies, because we believe that they will automatically cure us. Often times, we do this because we want immediate results and relief, and do not always give much thought to the consequences. Well, it turns out that when it comes to sleeping and suffering from insomnia, we should be looking into safer alternatives than pills and the like. Sometimes these aids can produce adverse reactions, so we should be more careful.

There are different types of chemicals in various sleep aids, and the side effects that they produce can range from annoying to sometimes fatal. The classification known as nonbenzodiazepine hypnotic medications are fairly new, and are prescribed for short-term use only. What people may not realize is that they work like a sedative to calm the nerves, rather than to actually 'fix' the health problems associated with insomnia. However, one particular brand in this classification of pills has been in the news recently, as it has caused nighttime wandering and bizarre activities, particularly in older people. But, physically, these pills have caused users to vomit excessively or to have to use the toilet quite frequently. Other side effects include severe swelling of the face or heavy chest pain. These reactions should of course be treated immediately by your doctor.

Another classification of sleep aids, benzodiazepine hypnotic medications, are even more severe and are used to treat a more chronic problem associated with sleeplessness. These produce almost the same reactions in users, with one additional one: possible liver failure. Most of these types of pills have been around for quite awhile, and usually work almost immediately after absorption occurs. Their powerful nature produces such a sound sleep that people may awake with hangover-esque symptoms the next day, including headaches and grogginess.

"Scent To Sleep lulls you towards sweet dreams by bringing sleep inviting fragrances into your bedtime routine" says Marina Brown of Scent to Sleep. Combining century's old herbal traditions with our unique formulations we blend, this botanical mix features insomnia blocking natural ingredients, which puts you in a state of pure relaxation. Once the customer has chosen their scent, they spritz bed pillows and linens before bedtime.

Brown said, "We are raising the bar for the sleep industry by providing an alternative to sleeping pills." If you take prescription or nonprescription sleeping pills night after night, it can cause dizziness, become habit forming and cause rebound insomnia when you stop taking the pills.
