Beacon Technologies, The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Beacosystem: Explaining Technologies to Grow and Create Jobs

Driving the IoT Market and NFC Adoption

"Tap GO when you want to know!" said co-author Theresa Mary Gordon.

RALEIGH, NC, June 22, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Proximity and location based technology will create new jobs and drive our economy forward particularly here in the Research Triangle. Filling a demand for technical expertise and resources to support this growth, Stephen Statler, along with Theresa Mary Gordon and others released, Beacon Technologies The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Beacosystem.

"Understanding new and innovative technologies is a must," said co-author Theresa Mary Gordon. "In Raleigh we have the perfect combination of universities, private sector and people who can drive proximity and wearable technology into the market place. Beacon Technologies will give them insight into how to leverage and deploy these solutions for customized messaging, increasing foot traffic and enhancing consumer engagement."

"Recent announcements from Google and Apple before them have put a spotlight on the use of the Bluetooth radios in people's phones to allow us to understand precisely where users are located. Some pundits have positioned this as a battle between Beacons and NFC." said Statler. "Theresa's contribution to our book joins the dots between that disruptive Bluetooth beacon technology and the use of NFC. Bluetooth beacons can trigger an offer from Apple Pay as shoppers enter a store and NFC enables that shopper to redeem it with a tap of their phone."

Gordon is a thought leader in IoT/NFC and wearable technologies, a co-founder of Thinaire and tapGOconnect, a Director with Carusele, an Ignite Social Media Company, and an advisor for GTX Corp.

She has written numerous articles on the subject and has presented in front of Fortune 500 leaders at RFID Journal LIVE, Digital Signage Expo and NFC World Congress, among others.

A pioneer in the wearables and IoT industry, GTX Corp CEO Patrick Bertagna stated, "The global wearable devices market continues to gain momentum and is on pace to grow 29% this year, reaching over 100 million units sold and is projected to reach $4.5 billion in sales by 2020. The technologies Theresa writes about are front and center to this significant stride forward in the market."

Gordon is working with retail and smart city initiatives and interactive outdoor engagement to foster NFC growth. She will soon be releasing an NFC enabled book which is the first publication in the "Goggles on the GO" series. This series includes NFC enabled items and mobile tap points that will provide real time information, updates, and engagement, connecting readers and communities around shared points of interest, causes and activities for instant feedback about the things that are important to them.
