After powerful tornadoes tore through the South-Eastern US state, the State Governor announced a state of emergency. The tornadoes have, so far, killed 10 people and injured and made homeless hundreds of others. With wind speeds of up to 240 kilometers an hour, Yazoo County has had three people die and the damage has been described as "utter obliteration" by the State Governor.
Emergency rescue vehicles from the US military are now being called in to help with search and rescue, especially in Yazoo City, which was the epicenter of the storm. Businesses, homes and even churches have been reduced to debris and rubble.
