Schoner, who fondly remembers his first job in life as a paper boy for the Progress Bulletin in Pomona, California, knows change. While working his way through college he held many jobs in fields as diverse as manufacturing, retail management and direct sales, consumer finance, and he even established a name for himself as a freelance cartoonist. After graduating with a degree in behavioral science he worked as a teacher, a counselor, a corporate sales training manager, a systems analyst, a project leader, and an Oracle DBA (database administrator). Even more remarkable is that he is currently more than half-way through writing his eleventh book, which he describes as "a collection of stories about my life that should tie it all together."
Schoner says he is living proof of the power of personal momentum. It took almost four years to complete his first book, but once he got the momentum going he simply could not stop writing; the momentum propelled him forward, ultimately carrying him far beyond the more modest target he had originally set for himself. He says this same principal can be applied to just about anything a person may wish to accomplish in life, whether that be to quit smoking, loose weight, gain confidence, or build a financial empire. "Every journey," he says, "begins with a single step, and then another, and then another, and then another, never looking back." The reason many people do not succeed at achieving their goals is because even though they may take the first step, they fail to take enough steps to reach that point where their forward momentum perpetuates itself, effortlessly.
