2008 Habana Girls Calendar
- NEW YORK, NY, November 19, 2007 - Artist and restaurateur Sean Meenan strikes again in his quest to make sustainability fun and accessible. He has just released The 2008 Habana Girls Calendar, which features the ladies of Cafe Habana and Habana Outpost serving up 12 months of fun and excitement. The calendar is printed on recycled paper with vegetable ink and was created by Meenan as a way to raise funds for Habana Works Inc.- a non-profit 501c3 organization that provides free sustainability workshops using art, architecture, videography, and design as tools to engage people of all ages and backgrounds.
The calendar can be purchased at any of the Habana of restaurants throughout the holidays or online at
www.ecoeatery.com. The price is $15 in the restaurants or $19 online (shipping and handling included). All of the proceeds will go to Habana Works Inc.
Inside the 2008 Habana Girls Calendar you will find the dates of all major holidays as well as the birthdays of lesser known historical figures and Habana Family members. The last page lists Habana Outpost "Green Facts" which gives you creative ideas on how to decrease your personal carbon footprint.
Sean Meenan and Cesar Vera shot the photographs in and around the Nolita eco-eatery Caf Habana in the spring of 2007. The day was warm and beautiful and the Habana Girls enjoyed strutting their stuff on Prince Street. The result is a collection of fun, vibrant, and cheeky photographs, which prove that going green doesn't always have to be serious. This calendar is the perfect gift for the eco-friendly or not-so-eco-friendly people on your holiday gift list.
