Beverley McCosham Larkam Celebrates Years of Clinical Experience

Beverley Larkam is licensed in social work and family therapy



    AUSTIN, TX, November 25, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Beverley McCosham Larkam has been included in Marquis Who's Who. For over 40 years, Beverley Larkam has worked in the field of Clinical Social Work and Marriage and Family Therapy. She earned a degree from the Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto, and a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work, and Master of Social Work from the University of British Columbia.

Beverley Larkam worked as a psychiatric Social Worker in Brackenridge Hospital beginning in 1952. She worked in Community Mental Health and at the Counseling and Psychological Services Center of the University of Texas at Austin. Since 1975 and 1979 respectively, she has worked in private practice in Austin, Texas and Georgetown, Texas in marriage and family therapy, sex therapy, individual, and group psychotherapy.

Beverley Larkam is licensed in social work and family therapy. She is Board Certified in Clinical Social Work, a member of the National Association of Social Workers and Clinical Social Work Federation. She is an Approved Supervisor of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, a Certified Diplomate in Sex Therapy (AASECT), and a Certified Group Psychotherapist of the American Association of Group Psychotherapists.

At University Presbyterian Church, Beverley Larkam chaired the senior high school department, established the first church school classes in Austin for mentally retarded/brain-damaged children, and organized the Nursery School. She chaired the Austin Commission for Women, ushered for the Austin Symphony for 40 years, is a member of the Women's Symphony League of Austin and the Georgetown Heritage Society.

In 2016, she was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award and in 2017, the Humanitarian Award.
