BREWTON, AL, July 2, 2009 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Billy D. Blair, Assistant Special Agent in Charge at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of law enforcement.

With 32 years of professional experience, Mr. Blair is an expert investigator. On a daily basis, he is responsible for managing four enforcement groups and one intelligence group covering three states, overseeing planned operations, recruiting and hiring, and handling disciplinary actions. He also serves as a division agent cashier and dispenses money to fund undercover operations. Mr. Blair began his career as a police officer while in graduate school and then sought a more challenging position in law enforcement. He attributes his success to his work ethic, reliability, his ability to bring the talents of other agencies together for a common goal, and to the support he receives from his family.

A graduate of Troy University, Mr. Blair received his Master's Degree in Criminal Justice in 1977 and his Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice in 1976. He is a member of the National Native American Law Enforcement Association, International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts and International Association of Chiefs of Police. He has been honored with the Heroism Award by the Attorney General and the Federal Investigators Association as well as a Gold Medal for being wounded by hostile fire from the director of the Bureau of ATF. Mr. Blair hopes to retire from the bureau and manage a larger police or sheriff's department.
