Under the direction of Laboratory Manager, Volha Dzyakanava, Ph.D., the laboratory can conduct human clinical virology testing based on ASTM Method E-1838 to evaluate handwash and handrub products for antiviral efficacy. By coupling the scientific capabilities of the virology laboratory with BioScience Laboratories' seventeen year history of conducting clinical studies, the company can offer its clients a start-to-finish solution that includes product design consulting, regulatory compliance assessments, clinical study management, laboratory testing and statistical analysis of test results.
The BioScience Laboratories, Inc. Virology Laboratory aids clients in new product development, R&D projects, marketing claims, and supporting EPA label claims. The laboratory provides clinical virology services, virology time-kill kinetics studies and virology disinfectant studies. This laboratory also has the capability to test antiviral drugs and topical antiviral formulations. Virology time-kill kinetics studies use a Virucidal Suspension Test (In-Vitro Time-Kill method) and are designed to evaluate the antiviral properties of test products when challenged with virus strains. Virology disinfectant studies are designed to provide virucidal efficacy data for disinfectant products challenged with various viruses.
