BDS utilizes Amazon Web Services Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) to provide a highly reliable computing infrastructure that boasts 99.95% uptime. With no capital expenditures for a physical server, no need to find data center rack space, and low operating costs, startup expenses and deployment times are substantially reduced.

Because BDS is an on-demand services-based application, users can leverage the Web interface as well as the Outlook add-in as if the BDS application were located on site, but without the maintenance and upfront costs that come with on-premise applications. All communications between the client and Amazon server is secure and encrypted at all times, and all files are encrypted while stored.
