Black Belt Community Foundation Announces 2018 Arts Grant Cycle

Funding for arts organizations across Alabama's Black Belt available. Application materials now available and schedule for six grants writing workshops announced.



    SELMA, AL, March 03, 2018 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Black Belt Community Foundation is announcing its 2018 Arts Grant Cycle. Community-based organizations from Bullock, Choctaw, Dallas, Greene, Hale, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Perry, Pickens, Sumter, and Wilcox Counties are encouraged to apply.

The BBCF seeks to support organizations who engage citizens in the Black Belt region in the arts. The 2018 Arts Grant Cycle will support projects addressing the arts in these categories: arts education programming, arts exposure programming and arts professional development. The BBCF will offer funding in two ways:

- A Small grants pool with funding up to $3,000 will cover arts education programming, arts exposure programming and arts professional development.
- Larger grants with funding up to $10,000 will cover arts education programming only.

The BBCF will be hosting six Grant Seeking Workshops for the organizations who are interested in applying for a 2018 Arts Grant. Attendance at one of the workshops is mandatory in order to be considered for a 2018 Arts Grant. The Grant seeking workshops will be held at the following locations:

- BBCF office in Selma, AL on Wednesday, March 7th from 10 am to 12 pm
- BBCF office in Selma, AL on Thursday, March 8th from 6 pm to 8 pm
- Black Belt Treasures, Camden, AL on Friday, March 9th from 10 am to 12 pm
- Macon County Commission Chambers, Tuskegee, AL on Saturday, March 10th from 2pm to 4pm
- BBCF office in Selma, AL on Tuesday, March 13th from 10 am to 12 pm
- University of West Alabama, Livingston, AL on Saturday, March 17th from 10 am to 12 pm

Grant applications are due before 4:00 PM Central Time on Monday, April 2nd, 2018.
