/24-7PressRelease/ - LEDGEWOOD, NJ, September 06, 2006 - Bomar Interconnect Products, Inc. today announced the addition of Type N connectors to their proprietary line of V-Bite RF edgeboard connectors. The Type N connector is the seventh member of the 100% RoHS-compliant V-Bite Series which is designed specifically to provide unsurpassed signal integrity in the most demanding RF applications. Boasting an extremely low profile (½ the connectors' diameter) and small footprint, the V-Bite Series is now comprised of a Type N, Type F, threaded through-panel BNC and standard BNC, along with twin BNC, miniature BNC, and TNC styles. The Series' engineering provides the utmost in anti-rotation abilities to ensure the stability and reliability of the connection. The devices notably snap and lock in place for secure PCB retention during hand or reflow soldering. Further, the parts are supported from both above and below the board to disperse rotational torque relief to the board, consequently minimizing stress on the solder area.
Ideally suited for employment in any application requiring a durable, weatherproof, medium-size RF connector with consistent performance through 18 GHz, Bomar's Type N V-Bite is applied to printed circuit boards for acceptance of cable or antenna terminations. The device is offered in an impedance of 50 Ohm, and typically yields low reflection. As such, it may be confidently specified for use in a broad spectrum of high power applications including communication base station antennas, broadcast, and Satcom, as well as in test and measurement equipment.
All members of the V-Bite family are manufactured of machined brass, and employ a straight-through contact design to provide an extremely low reflection factor with a VSWR of 1.30. They are provided with a Teflon dielectric to facilitate reflow soldering, and may be ordered in various standard and custom mechanical configurations.
