/24-7PressRelease/ - EDMONTON, AB, CANADA, July 22, 2005 - Heather Andrews Miller is a versatile Canadian writer and photojournalist with many credits to her name. She is one of the authors now featured on the new author and writer promotional website, BookAdz.com. Her work has appeared in magazines and newspapers across Alberta.
As a farm wife and mother, Miller co-edited and co-owned a weekly tabloid newspaper in an agricultural community in northeastern Alberta before moving to Edmonton. Once in the city she was involved in production (four years at Jasper Printing) while establishing a home-based writing business, greatly rounding out her skills and knowledge of the publishing business. She served as editor of Spokesman Magazine, an Edmonton-based publication focusing on the successes of folks from the disabled community, and traveled the province as feature writer for a provincial ethnic publication before going out on her own as a freelance reporter.
Currently Miller enjoys regular assignments from Real Estate Weekly, Western Producer, Alberta Native News, Edmonton Jewish News, Edmonton Woman, Windspeaker and Pilot Press, to name a few. She also accepts contract assignments for projects such as newsletters with local not-for-profit organizations. While many interviews are carried on by telephone or e-mail, she looks forward to the occasions where face-to-face meetings are possible. She fully believes that "every life has a story" and genuinely enjoys getting to know the people about whom she writes.
A life-long learner, Miller completed a Bachelor of Arts (sociology) degree by distance education from Athabasca University in 2002. She applied to the same institution to do a master program in 2004 and is currently completing the second of eleven courses, with graduation expected in 2008.
As a member of PWAC, she is listed on the http://www.writers.ca website and can be found on-line by googling her name where she'll appear on several of the publications for which she currently writes.
She lives with her husband, Mel, in west Edmonton and enjoys frequent visits with grown children and grandchildren. She also teaches piano and guitar lessons at a local music school.
