/24-7PressRelease/ -- Bouje Publishing was awarded the 2009 Emerging Program Award which recognizes an employee volunteer program that is less than 2 years old and has achieved significant results. Bouje Publishing, who specializes in teaching kids business concepts and entrepreneurial skill, ran Preparing Kids for Success, a program that taught pre-teens leadership, business, and entrepreneurship skills while providing support to parents and educators. Participating students started businesses, giving up to 20% of their profits to non-profits in their communities. Additionally, the students have seen an improvement in their reading, writing, and math skills.
In late August, eight Atlanta corporations were named finalist for IMPACT (Involvement Means People Acting Together) of outstanding volunteer programs. The Awards ceremony was held September 17th at the World of Coca Cola. Winners and runner-ups were recognized in four categories. The IMPACT winner was awarded a $15,000 grant given to the nonprofit partner of their choice, and the other winners each received $5,000 grants for their non-profit partners.
