KEANSBURG, NJ, August 26, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- August is in full swing and it feels great to be a South African living in the USA. With the Olympics just ended, we can truly be proud of the men and women of South Africa who returned home with 6 medals in all. What a highlight of the Olympics to watch our very own Oscar Pistorius achieve something spectacular. He warmed the hearts and brought tears to the eyes of people worldwide. Absolutely amazing to say the least! A job well done for team USA, not only did they lead the medal count; they also brought 104 medals home. No small feat.
With the 2012 Olympics over, it is time to focus on new exciting events taking place over the next few weeks that we want to share with you.

The Pig 'n Whistle monthly gathering is coming up on Friday the 24th of August. If you are interested in sharing your experiences of living in the U.S. as a South African, this event should simply not be missed. I have yet to walk away from an event without meeting someone new and interesting. Whether it's how to get/change a VISA, the application process for citizenship, finding out the top shops for SA products, or the proper lingo to use when ordering, each event is helpful, enjoyable, and informative. The proud sponsor of each event is Braaitime.com. You get the additional bonus of FREE biltong and droewors tasters while you mingle and there are always numerous South African goodies available for sale.
