FORT LAUDERDALE, FL, May 03, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- With her debut album "Break Free" on LTK 20 Rechords, Sasha Dias, 22, spotlights her melodic vocal talents with songs that intone a Reggaeton Pop vibe. Filled with original songs, including "Break Free," it also includes a salute to one of Sasha's favorite performers. "I've been performing Celine Dion's 'Power of Love' since was I was 16," says Sasha. "It's one of my favorite songs and I'm so excited to have it on this album."
She just recorded her first professional music video "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," a duet with Terry Linen featured on "Break Free." "Sasha is a spiritual singer, a good girl. The business needs that, people will love her," says Linen. Sasha is a popular YouTube recording artist. She has dozens of music videos on YouTube covering artists like Beyonce, Rihanna, Pink even Katy Perry and racking up tens of thousands of views.
"I don't want to be limited to one style of music," explains Sasha. She lists her favorite music artists from reggae and dance hall performers like Buju Banton and Sanchez to R&B's Beyonce, Jennifer Hudson and Whitney Houston to pop's Taylor Swift and Celine Dion.
Born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Sasha grew up in a musical family with roots in Jamaica. Her grandfather, music veteran Winston Dias of Jamaica's "Cericy Tea" fame, is renowned as a singer of reggae and R&B. Her mother, father and cousins have also performed musically. By age 13, Sasha joined her cousin and a friend in creating R&B girl group 3 Charmz. Together they charmed Ft. Lauderdale audiences throughout her high school years.
Active in her Ft. Lauderdale community, Sasha mentors Pee-Wee cheerleaders as a coach. "I was a cheer coach during high school," she says. "I like the choreography and working with young people." Her creativity also includes a series of YouTube videos on "How to Put on Make-up." Sasha's specialty is eye shadow. "I love playing with colors," she explains. "My mother and grandmother allowed me to practice on them." These ladies also inspired her to pursue a career in the medical field. Her mother is an RN and her grandmother is a medical technician. Prior to releasing "Break Free," Sasha earned a diploma as a medical assistant.
Now, Sasha is receiving rave reviews for her first career love -singing. "I'm learning how to play the guitar so I can hear the notes while I'm singing. It will help me to be a better songwriter," she states. "My goal is to produce. I want to be with my music from the start to finish."
