    WHITINSVILLE, MA, May 20, 2014 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Irrigation Automation President and Chief Executive Officer Brett Niver has been recognized for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in engineering and agriculture.

With more than 25 years of professional experience in engineering and agriculture, Mr. Niver has thoroughly honed his expertise in software engineer management and design, hardware and product development, and government services. He utilizes his experience and skills in his role as president and CEO of Irrigation Automation, an esteemed automation products provider for the agricultural industry. Its newest product, the TempGard family, is an expandable temperature monitoring system that doesn't require a cellular connection. Instead, it can be monitored through the Internet via a USB power connection. The product consists of one or more base units linked to as many as 16 field sensor units. The TempGard Wireless Repeater can be used to extend the rage of wireless sensors.

Mr. Niver's position with the company entails managing overall operations and the vision of the company, as well as research and development, new business development, product development, long-term strategic planning and government relations. He oversees the installation of equipment at Rutgers University's research center and the University of Massachusetts' Cranberry center in Wareham, Mass. Mr. Niver is also responsible for the formulation of strong relationships with many university research partners in agriculture across the U.S.

While pursuing a Master of Science in computer science at Kent State University, Mr. Niver's work involved symbolic computation in Lisp for routing binary, Batcher/Banyan networks, efficient development of distributed relational databases leveraging Prolog as Relational Algebra homomorphism, and analysis of Visual Cortex as a multi-layer switch network. He started his career as a software engineer for Kodak, developing the support for the Kims Document Archival product. He also worked as a software manager for EDC, managing all aspects of product software development and support, and being instrumental in product development both in new product definition and existing product refinement. Mr. Niver then transitioned into consulting by working for HITEX, developing automatic source code translators, disassemblers and standard IP networking support for all emulators. Upon returning from Germany, Mr. Niver began work at EMC in Hopkinton, Mass., where he lead a research and development team in the development of a high-speed fabric switched interconnect for the VMax enterprise family of storage systems. He also managed the fabric and communications software development group for the Symmetrix product prior to becoming the chief executive officer of Irrigation Automation Systems.

In addition to a master's degree from Kent State University, Mr. Niver holds a bachelor's degree in mathematics, with concentrations in computer science and psychology, from Malone University. He is affiliated with RapidIO Trade Association and IEEE. Looking toward the future, Mr. Niver plans to continue expanding and growing the company both internationally and nationally.
