Stanford Who's Who/ -- Jonatas Manzolli PhD has received the recognition of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his extraordinary effort in the Education Industry. As a Professor at the University of Campinas, as well as throughout his brilliant and diverse professional career, Jonatas has consistently displayed the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be among the elite.
The University of Campinas which is known also as Unicamp, is one of the public universities of the State of São Paulo, Brazil. Its main campus is located in the Barão Geraldo district, with additional campuses in Limeira and Piracicaba.
Created in 1962 and physically installed in 1966 as one of the best universities in Brazil, Unicamp's original goal was to promote science education in the industrial pole of São Paulo's interior region. As of 2006, the university had about 16,000 undergraduate and 15,000 graduate students, as well as 1,800 faculty members. It is currently known as one of the best universities in all of Latin America and is ranked in the top 150 in the world.
Jonatas Manzolli PhD is a composer and mathematician and the research leader of NICS, which is translated as Interdisciplinary Nucleus of Sound Communication, at Unicamp. His research is focused on mathematical model applications of complex systems to music composition and interactive systems. Two of his recent works are the evolutionary compositional system Vox Populi and the application of neuroinformatic technology in the RoBoser project.
Jonatas is a man who wears many hats, all of which fit him well. He is a mathematician, composer, teacher, researcher, scientist and musician. He attributes his success to an excellent balance between formal and scientific concepts combined with artistic creativity. Dr. Manzolli teaches Music Technology and has developed software for music application such as music therapy applications for the elderly and disabled.
Dr. Manzolli is the Founder of the Brazilian Society of Cognitive Science. He is a member of the Brazilian Society of Computer Sciences and the Computer Music Branch. He is also a member of the Brazil Society of Electric and Acoustic Music. In December 2009, Jonatas was the recipient of the Zeferino Vaz Award from Unicamp for excellence of academic research in Arts.
