Britain Becomes More Charitable But Forgets Life Insurance Cover

New research implies that the spare change Brits are happy to donate to their families, could cover their life for less

LONDON, ENGLAND, July 18, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Despite Britain facing tough economic challenges in the face of the declining Euro Zone and a sour mix of rising property prices and high inflation, Brits have become relatively charitable. Perhaps feelings of compassion toward our Greek, Italian and Spanish neighbours has reinforced the adage Love Thy Neighbour and brought it a little closer to home, too. New research carried out by Bright Grey has revealed that half of all UK adults would give a spare GBP10 to their family. A quarter of the same populous would give the GBP10 to charity and just 19% would keep the money for themselves.

Selfless Britain triumphs and the nation is also becoming a little freer with the pennies as nearly half of those individuals interviewed professed that they wouldn't miss the spare GBP10.

The notion of not missing a spare GBP10 is perplexing, though, when other, more important factors, are to be considered. While most people are undoubtedly keen to support and protect loved ones financially in any way possible, very few chose to put spare money towards their own life.

The myths surrounding costly life insurance tarnish the attitudes many have towards this essential cover. Life insurance never costs the bank, but is actually available at a range of affordable prices - for even less than just GBP10 per month.

Buying life insurance is a sure fast way of protecting family members financially. When the main source of financial income departs, that minor spend of less than GBP10 a month suddenly becomes very significant - it could secure multiple futures left behind.

Life insurance is easy to buy and easy to maintain. This July, life insurance from respected insurance firm, Legal & General, comes with an additional donation. Every time their Life Insurance or Life Insurance with Critical Illness Cover policies are bought, Legal & General will donate GBP10 to Cancer Research UK on the buyer's behalf. This comes as part of the firm's Breast Cancer Awareness Campaign, which sits hand in hand with helping to protect families and providing support for those in need. Before buying life insurance, take advantage of getting an online life insurance quote which will help give an indication of any costs incurred.

Ultimately, a little goes a very long way. To the end.
