French students still hold a majority of places, despite the number of students from directly across the Channel dropping from 37% in 2007-08 to 23% in 2008-09. Interest has risen among both Chinese (with a 3% rise in 2008-09 to 16%) and Russian (with a 2% rise in 2008-09 to 13%) students, although the greatest increase has been among Kazakh students, who have increased their numbers from 8% in 2007-08 to 12% in 2008-09.
