/24-7PressRelease/ - LONDON, UK, December 03, 2006 - The figures released by Mintel, a marketing research firm, indicate that Britons are shopping much earlier for the Christmas gifts.
It was found that the reducing numbers of people are waiting until the last minute to invest in gifts for their loved ones. Statistically, around 33 per cent of shoppers are waiting until the last minute to buy gifts for their friends. The corresponding figure five years ago was nine per cent fewer indicating that Britons are quite eager to go to shopping for the Christmas season.
The research also reveals that 26 per cent of shoppers are holding onto their money in anticipation for the January sales, while 41 per cent of adult consumers are planning to buy Christmas items on the Internet.
The items on which Britons are most likely to spend their money are Music, DVDs and books.
