/24-7PressRelease/ -- The slow speeds often associated with mobile broadband have been well documented. Therefore in a move to improve internet efficiency, Broadband Expert's exclusive partnership with ONSPEED will entitle anyone signing up to a new mobile broadband contract via the Broadband Expert site, in September, to receive a free one year subscription to the ONSPEED software. The subscription normally costs GBP24.99 per annum, and can increase speeds by up to ten times.
Rob Webber, Commercial Director, at Broadband Expert says that the free ONSPEED software will help mobile broadband users make the most of their connection. "Slow mobile broadband can be really frustrating for many internet users and we were interested in finding out the difference an ONSPEED speed boost could make," says Webber. "We decided to put it through its paces by conducting a road test of mobile broadband speeds across the country. We found that, on average, ONSPEED cut web page download times by over 60 percent."
The Broadband Expert road test monitored the time taken to download a large page of text and graphics with and without the ONSPEED software using Vodafone mobile broadband in various locations around the country including Northwest London, Chelmsford, Guildford, Bournemouth and Birmingham. Results showed the average time to download the same website page with text and images (754,928 bytes), was 5.6 seconds, compared to 2.2 seconds when the ONSPEED software was used.
ONSPEED is award winning software that was launched in 2004. It works by compressing web pages and emails so that they can be downloaded faster.
