Broadcast Giant Bill Kurtis to Address May 20th Chicago Lighthouse Dinner Saluting Outstanding Philanthropists Judy and Ray McCaskey
The "Seeing What's Possible" dinner will be hosted by sports anchor Rich King, feature music preformances and a legendary guest speaker to give thanks to the exemplary civic and philanthropic service of Judy and Ray McCaskey.

    CHICAGO, IL, March 21, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Broadcast legend Bill Kurtis will be the special guest speaker at the May 20th Chicago Lighthouse "Seeing What's Possible" Dinner saluting Judy and Ray McCaskey, whose exemplary civic and philanthropic service have made the community a better place to live and work.

This extraordinary event, which will be hosted by WGN-TV Sports Anchor Rich King, will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel, 120 E. Delaware Place, from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Highlights will include a reception, dinner, raffle, silent auction and live entertainment by jazz vocalist Amanda Hunt and Vision Quest, The Lighthouse's own group of talented musicians.

"We are so very proud that Bill Kurtis, who is a true giant in Chicago broadcasting, will address our dinner saluting Judy and Ray McCaskey for their tremendous contributions," said Dr. Janet Szlyk, The Lighthouse's executive director. "Through their exceptional service to the community, Judy and Ray have inspired others to get involved!"

Dr. Szlyk also extended her appreciation to Mr Kurtis and his wife, Donna La Pietra, for joining Mayor and Mrs. Richard M. Daley as honorary dinner chairs and to the event's co-chairs: H. Dennis Giertz of Northwestern Mutual Financial Network; Robert D. Proctor of QA3 Financial and Donald J. Vilim, AAR CORP.

Mrs. McCaskey has served on numerous civic committees and non-profit boards, including the Lighthouse's. Mr. McCaskey has been a trendsetter in civic engagement in the corporate world. He recently retired as president and chief executive officer of BlueCross and BlueShield of Illinois.

Proceeds from the 2010 Seeing What's Possible Dinner will support more than two dozen Lighthouse programs including job placement and training, the school for children who are visually impaired and have multiple disabilities, and the Low Vision Rehabilitation Center.

Individual tickets are available at $500 and $250. Anyone interested in sponsoring a ticket for a visually impaired guest can do so at $200. If you are unable to attend, please consider supporting the mission by donating to the "Seeing What's Possible" Annual Fund.
