The Friends of the Westchester County Parks, which is leading the restoration and preservation effort of the Bronx River's 13.5 mile area, selected Guide by Cell's cell phone audio guide to help the public understand and appreciate the scope of the restoration, and of the park's historic significance. The audio guide features recordings narrated by former CBS journalist and anchorman, Dan Rather who reads from a script written and produced by RPD Media Associates LLC (www.rpdmedia.net). Rather became involved as narrator after having been asked by RPD Media's President Richard Diefenbach, a former CBS news journalist. The veteran news journalist agreed to become part of the Bronx River Walk tour project with the only condition being that his services be donated to the Friends of Westchester County Parks as a way to give back to the community and to honor his life-long passion for the outdoors.
