NEW HAVEN, CT, February 22, 2012
/EIN Presswire/ -- Pending in CT Superior Court is a multi-count lawsuit against Comcast and Comcast Spotlight. Among the multiple counts is a MONOPOLY claim whereby the actions of "Comcast" constitute an attempt to monopolize a part of trade or business relating to the procurement of cable advertising revenue to the exclusion of BThrifty. It further claims the activities of "Comcast and Comcast Spotlight" have an adverse effect on competitive conditions to compete in the marketplace for cable advertising revenue. "Comcast's" behavior has had an adverse effect on competition as a whole.
It also claims the actions of "Comcast" had the effect of eliminating the ability for small businesses to affordably advertise on cable television networks, rendering them at a competitive disadvantage compared to larger businesses. The elimination of BThrifty and its affordable rate structure from the marketplace leaves small business owners with no affordable means to advertise on any cable networks. As a result of Comcast's actions more than twenty BThrifty people lost their livelihoods in this once thriving multimedia company.
