/24-7PressRelease/ - SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 21, 2008 - The Omaha-based mom and mom production company, Us2, has announced that the first episode of Buddy G, My Two Moms and Me has been selected for this year's San Francisco International LGBT Film Festival, Frameline32.

Buddy G is the first animated series to star a child with two moms. In addition, the show touches on the educational bench marks for science through Buddy G's interactive armband computer, Socrates. Buddy G sets the new standard in family programming in which families of all shapes and sizes are woven into the mainstream fabric.

"We wanted our son to see families like his represented in an educational- based cartoon. Since nothing was available, we created one for him and all the other children with LGBT parents," according to Executive Producer Margaux Towne-Colley.

Buddy G-TV is in the process of securing a private investment that will allow the franchise to extend beyond this episode.

"The beauty of Buddy G is we could substitute any character or even cast of characters into the series and the content would not have to change at all," said Towne-Colley. "Take Buddy G and his moms out of the series and substitute the families from Dora, Little Bill, or Caillou, and the dialogue and storylines could stay the same. Bottom line is that the show isn't about the gay agenda."

Buddy G reflects reality, and most - if not all - children will meet another child with gay parents, and there needs to be a vehicle for extending the lexicon to include this situation, said Towne-Colley.

Film festivals like Frameline strengthen the diverse lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community and further its visibility by showing that our community transcends stereotypes of who we are or who we should be.

Buddy G will be part of Frameline's kids' matine at the Castro Theatre on June 22, at 10:30 a.m., and free for anyone 12 and under. With more and more families, strollers and babies rolling through the streets of the Castro District and the gay community in general, it should be a big hit.
