/24-7PressRelease/ -- Parents can help keep their children safe and protect them against being bullied by attending a Bully Buster Seminar, Friday, Feb. 12 at 7:30 p.m. at Laurita Martial Arts Academy in the Basha's Shopping Center, 5115 N. Dysart Road in Litchfield Park.
The seminar is free, but preregistration is required. Parents can enroll their children by calling 623-935-5759, or stopping by the academy.
Topics that will be covered in the free seminar include:
• How to avoid confrontation.
• How to show courage.
• How to walk away from trouble.
• How to defend themselves if necessary.
"Nearly 77% of all school-aged children are bullied and the after effects can leave emotional scars," said Jerry Laurita, owner and operator of Laurita Martial Arts Academy. "Kids who are bullied can become anxious, scared, anti-social and suffer from low self esteem that usually carries over into adulthood. By offering this free seminar, we hope to help both boys and girls learn how to avoid this epidemic problem."
Laurita Martial Arts Academy offers Muay Thai Kickboxing, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Haidong Gumdo (Sword) classes for children, adults, as well as specialty martial arts-themed birthday parties.
