Bunnie Riedel Earns License as a Standards for Excellence Nonprofit Consultant

A code of Ethics and Performance for Nonprofit Organizations

    COLUMBIA, MD, November 20, 2016 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Riedel Communications, Inc. is proud to announce that its principal, Bunnie Riedel, has recently earned the Nonprofit Professional Consultant License from the Standards for Excellence Institute.

As a Standards for Excellence Licensed Consultant, Ms. Riedel has been licensed by the Standards for Excellence Institute for successfully completing the rigorous Licensed Consultant training program. In doing so, she gained the knowledge, skills, and tools necessary to work with nonprofit organizations across the country interested in learning about, implementing, and becoming accredited under the Standards for Excellence: An Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector.

"This rigorous training brings together my 25 years of nonprofit management experience with a body of research for ethical standards for nonprofit management," said Riedel. "The ethics and code are what the nonprofit community should aspire to achieve every day."

The six areas addressed in the Guiding Principles of the Standards for Excellence code are:

I. Mission, Strategy and Evaluation
II. Leadership: Board Staff, and Volunteers
III. Legal Compliance and Ethics
IV. Finance and Operations
V. Resource Development
VI. Public Awareness, Engagement, and Advocacy

"All nonprofits should be held accountable to the donors and general public which they serve," said Riedel. "The nonprofit sector is second only to the energy sector in size and importance and as such should strive to be good stewards of that public trust."

With this licensure, Ms. Riedel is poised to assist nonprofits in achieving accreditation as a Standards for Excellence Nonprofit.

Why should an organization participate in the Standards?

Each organization has its own rationale for implementing Standards for Excellence program or earning accreditation. Some of the primary reasons to implement the program include:
- To assess the way your organization is run, and to strengthen your administrative infrastructure so that you will be in a better position to serve your clients;
- To re-evaluate and strengthen your procedures; and
- To build a stronger, more informed staff and board.
