/24-7PressRelease/ -- The Four Points by Sheraton Cybercity has now officially opened its doors to the International and local business communities. The Hotel opened on the 1st July 2009 with the opening party being held on the Friday 3rd of July in the hotel itself.
The theme of the party was that of "Simple Pleasures" part of the concept of the brand of four Points by Sheraton. These 'Simple pleasures' were explored by a series of animations and interactive activities on show at differing locations within the hotel during the evening. These included kite flying, free hugs, and sofa music. Around 550 guests from various business sectors attended the launching party.
The Guest of Honour at the opening party was the Prime Minister of the Republic of Mauritius Dr. The Honourable Navinchandra Ramgoolam. The guests were addressed in turn by Mr. Chris Newman, the General Complex Manager of Starwood Hotels Mauritius, Mr. Hassan Adhab the Vice President Operations AFIO, and Mr Shyam Surat, Chairman of the Ebene Cybercity Hotels - the owning company of the Four Points by Sheraton. Mr. Chris Newman also invited the Prime Minister to unveil a ceremonial plaque commemorating the event after his speech in the Ebony ballroom.
Following the formalities, the guests were encouraged to sample at first hand the theme of the evening. Printed guides had been designed especially for the evening to help explain the evening's activities as well as the different locations that were open for view such as the Spa, the swimming pool and the bedrooms. Following a series of coloured footprints around the hotel, guests could move around the property and enjoy or interact with a number of animations including the Free Hug Campaign, or watch and actors and actresses in some of the bedrooms having pillow fights and other entertaining scenarios.
One of the main highlights for all the guests was the opening of the three distinctive food and beverage outlets: the Adrenaline Sports Bar - a Tex-Mex style restaurant - which on the night offered miniature bite sized dishes replicating the daily menu; the French brasserie restaurant Cazerolle - which also proposed its menu in miniature-sized dishes; and Lounge Sixty5 - the 24/7 coffee shop - offering its signature dishes and coffee blends to the eagerly waiting guests.
The outdoor terrace bar, part of the Adrenalin sports bar, was the venue for the outdoor live entertainment provided by two local DJs: Zack Shaker and Miss Christine Rouge while Mr Cyril Michel, a famous Local Saxophonist entertained the guests into the early hours. The guests at the terrace bar were also entertained by barmen flaring and mixing the bar's signature cocktails; Adrenaline Rush and Ebene Soul.
The event was extremely well attended, and it appeared that a good time was had by all, one that many hope will be replicated time and time again in the forthcoming months now that the Four Points by Sheraton Cybercity, the first international standard Hotel in Mauritius, is now open.
