Jessica Barnes and her business partners were keen to offer great facilities without charging the earth. Jessica said: "For larger and more formal meeting requirements, we can offer various meeting and conference rooms for booking. But for those looking to save on cost and have smaller, more informal meetings, we are happy to let small businesses use the business lounge.
"Many hotels charge for internet access but we were keen provide a venue which is high quality in terms of the food and facilities, and which is also reasonably priced. We thought long and hard about the layout and design of the facilities throughout the hotel, making sure that the business lounge was not only comfortable but also a practical meeting point for business people. There are plenty of power points and a variety of seating to suit the needs of those working remotely."
Since opening in late November, Kyte Hotel has been a real success in the local community. Due to its excellent location and free facilities, a number of local businesses and business people traveling through the area have been making the most of what Kyte has to offer. Kyte is located just off the A1 just south of the M62 junction with Ferrybridge.
The hotel on Great North Road, in Darrington, West Yorkshire, has 15 bedrooms, a restaurant, tea rooms, meeting rooms, and conference and wedding facilities. It is now owned by Jessica Barnes (30) and Sharon Stubbs (39) who have both recently given up full time jobs to pursue their dream of running their own hotel business. They are joined in partnership by their mutual friend Nigel Halmshaw (57) from Leeds who will be taking a more back-seat, mentoring role in the business.
