/24-7PressRelease/ - GREENSBORO, NC, June 11, 2008 - Capital Associated Industries, Inc. (CAI), the largest membership employers' association in the state, will be participating in the 2008 North Carolina Chamber Manufacturing Summit, What North Carolina Makes, Makes North Carolina, on June 10th at the Grandover Resort and Conference Center in Greensboro. CAI's CEO, Bruce Clarke, will be facilitating the breakout session, 'Keeping North Carolina Union Free'.

"CAI's roots are based in helping manufacturers thrive and succeed," says Lynn Unsworth, Triad region manager for CAI, who has been working in the human resources field for more than twenty-five years. "We want to promote the fact that manufacturing is still a viable entity in North Carolina and is critical to our economy."

The focus of the summit is to help employers and business leaders maintain a competitive business climate for manufacturers. The summit will address legislative, regulatory, and legal issues confronting the state's manufacturing sector. Leaders in the policy areas vital to manufacturing prosperity will also be highlighted at the summit including Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue and Mayor of Charlotte, Pat McCrory, both of whom are candidates for governor.

"It's a different day in manufacturing and it's important to help promote that things are different," says Unsworth. "There are so many companies in need of skilled employees; the real challenge is effectively addressing the important issues at hand to keep this sector viable."

CAI has worked to promote the summit to its manufacturing members and assist the North Carolina Chamber in its efforts.
