NAPERVILLE, IL, June 20, 2017 /24-7PressRelease/
recently named Christina Castrejon, CFP(r), Wealth Advisor at Calamos Wealth Management, as one of its 2017 40 Under 40. Based on accomplishments to date, contributions to the financial advisory industry, leadership and promise, Castrejon was chosen from more than 800 nominations.
"Given the passion, dedication and innovative spirit that are hallmarks of the U.S. financial advice industry, it's not surprising we received more than 800 nominations," said Frederick P. Gabriel Jr., editor of InvestmentNews
. "Whittling the nominations down to just 40 honorees was tough. But, after reading our honorees' stories, I have no doubt others will feel as inspired and hopeful for the industry's future as we do."
Castrejon joined Calamos Wealth Management in 2005 and today serves as the lead advisor for nearly 100 clients. She co-leads the Calamos Wealth Management "Women & Wealth" initiative, a concerted effort to educate fellow advisors, clients and the general community on the importance of women empowering themselves with knowledge and resources on matters pertaining to investment and wealth management. She is a contributing writer on the subject to Chicago Woman magazine.
Castrejon's passion for promoting the advancement of women is evident in her involvement with the Chicago Chapter of Step Up, which helps girls in under-resourced communities fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused women.
She is also a mentor for the CFP Board's WIN-to-WIN program, a volunteer mentoring service provided by current CFP(r) professionals to encourage younger individuals and members of underrepresented groups, including women, to become an integral part of the profession.
Jim Baka, President of Calamos Wealth Management, said, "Christina's talents make a difference every day for clients, and in the greater Chicago community. We're thrilled to see her recognized as one of InvestmentNews' 40 Under 40."
"It's an honor to be recognized by InvestmentNews
," said Castrejon. "I feel fortunate to work in a supportive environment where I can merge my work with my passions and have the opportunity to make a positive impact on people's lives."
