/24-7PressRelease/ - SANTA ANA, CA, March 25, 2007 - Brown Law Firm clients, The Minuteman Project, the prominent opponent of illegal immigration, its founder Jim Gilchrist and Steve Eichler, one of the advisors who remains loyal to Gilchrist and the Minuteman Project, obtained the injunction in Orange County Superior Court. The preliminary injunction orders the former advisors of the Minuteman Project not to divert donations to the organization and to refrain from using pilfered Minuteman letterhead with Gilchrist's printed signature. Mark S. Brown, of the Brown Law Firm in San Juan Capistrano, appeared before Judge Randal Wilkinson Wednesday afternoon arguing that the Defendants did not have legal authority to act on behalf of the organization.

On February 22, 2007, Brown brought the suit on behalf of Gilchrist and the other plaintiffs seeking an injunction to establish Gilchrist's control of the organization. The suit also alleges that the former advisors defamed Gilchrist, Eichler and the organization. "The Defendants were never more than advisors to the Minuteman Project and did not have authority to act on behalf of the organization. When they realized they could not legally take over the organization for their personal gain, they spread malicious lies about Jim Gilchrist and Steve Eichler and tried to hijack the organization," said attorney Brown. Brown continued, "This is an important victory for the Minuteman Project. The truth is on the Plaintiffs' side. Ultimately we will prevail."
