/24-7PressRelease/ - SACRAMENTO, CA, March 15, 2006 - Steve Rodacker, Vice President of Mar-Val Food Stores in Lodi, California, was named CIGA's Retailer of the Year. Rich Arnold of Birds Eye Foods/CandW Foods was named CIGA's Associate Member of the Year.
Following Mar-Val Foods' long tradition of CIGA activism, established by the late Mar-Val Foods President and former CIGA Chairman of the Board Mardee Kidd in the 1970's, and current Mar-Val Foods' President Mark Kidd, who also served as CIGA Chairman of the Board, Steve began serving on CIGA's Board of Directors in 1989, became Chairman of the Board in 2001, completing his term in 2003 . Rodacker currently serves as Vice President of Retail Marketing Services, Inc., CIGA's wholly-owned subsidiary, providing coupon clearing services to grocers throughout the state.
According to CIGA Executive Director Sharon Paxton, "Steve Rodacker and the whole Mar Val Food Store's team raised funds for American Red Cross disaster relief efforts following both the Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina. Steve represents the ideal retail grocer, he is the person you want as your community partner, your neighbor, and your friend."
