"Cal-Tex packages millions of units of juice per week for such distributor/customers as Sysco and Glazier Foods," says Van Liew.
Bailey, who is secretary-treasurer, smiles when she recalls the way the Cal-Tex accounting office once processed the company's 500-plus checks sent out each month. "Ten years ago, we did each one of them manually - on a typewriter."
Van Liew also has accounting memories. "Before Edible," he says, "I had to wait 30 days to see a month-end report. Now, I have a report whenever I need it." He says Edible Software has accommodated Cal-Tex growth "with no need to hire additional employees. Having Edible means we are in a position to react quickly to market changes."
