LEDUC, AB, CANADA, February 16, 2012 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Donna Tona, Chief Executive Officer of Tona O'Reilly Associates Inc., has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in management consulting. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

"My career was accidental," admits Ms. Tona, a certified trauma specialist and management consultant with three decades of professional experience. She originally aspired to be a police officer, but was soon afforded the opportunity to become a civilian manager within the community services section of the Calgary Police Service. "The skills I achieved there and the varied experience in working with victims in the specialty units of the services was invaluable," she shares. In 1991, she decided to draw upon her experiences and skills and establish her own management consulting firm.

As the CEO of Tona O'Reilly Associates Inc., Ms. Tona utilizes her expertise in emergency trauma management, municipal consulting, bylaw enforcements and interim management. She helps corporations put their teams back together during critical incidents through consulting, training and motivational programs. Ms. Tona is also a skilled suicide prevention trainer and responder. She performs crisis intervention and critical incident stress debriefing with more than 500 incidences to her credit. She was cited in a book pulished by the New York State Psychological Association with respect to debriefing uniformed responders. Ms. Tona attributes her success to her mentors, including her former colleagues at the Calgary Police Service. She also credits her upbringing and the support she receives from her friends and her husband.

Ms. Tona studied business at Red Deer College and Justice and Administration at Mount Royal University. She has received training in crisis management from Canadian Police College and has continued her education with numerous certification courses. Her professional affiliations include the Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists, Canadian Association of Emergency Managers,and Alberta Chamber of Commerce. Ms. Tona has received various accolades from the Calgary Police Service for her work, as well as an Award for Crime Prevention from Alberta Provincial Government and a CUNA Appreciation Award. Ms. Tona plans to continue with her work in the coming years. "I'm currently working on a book," she states, "and look forward to its success and subsequent volumes on practical life and how to get through it, and not run from it."
