CHEHALIS, WA, December 4, 2008 /Cambridge Who's Who/ -- James Stafford, Sculptor, Oil Painter and Proprietor of Wildlife In Bronze, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Bronze Wildlife Sculpture. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership, and service.

Mr. Stafford has an unprecedented 34 years of professional experience in fine art. A specialist in creating wildlife sculptures in bronze, he concentrates on the North American elk and wild sheep. He notes that, as a boy, he would draw and paint depictions of the natural landscape of Washington state. He began casting figures in bronze in 1964 and takes pride in studying his subjects in their natural habitat in order to produce one-of-a-kind pieces with a truly realistic aesthetic.

Having been featured in Sports Afield magazine for his bronze series of the world's wild sheep, Mr. Stafford was proudly voted into the Society of Animal Artists in recognition of his artistic skills and contributions to animal art. An avid public speaker, he taught three-dimensional art classes for seven years and attributes his success to his hard work and dedication. Mr. Stafford received his Master of Fine Arts from the University of Oregon in 1968 and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Pottery, Sculpture and Painting from Western Washington University in 1964. He is a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, the Foundation for North American Wild Sheep, the North American Wildlife Foundation, the Society of Animal Artists, and Safari Club International.
