/Cambridge Who's Who/ -- Marguerite Barrett, Director, Executive Recruiting and Director of Learning and Development for Talent Acquisition for The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Employee Recruiting, Training and Development. While inclusion in Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only two male and two female members in each discipline are named the Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year. The Cambridge Who's Who selection committee chooses these special honorees based on their accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership, and service.
With more than ten years of professional experience, Ms. Barrett specializes in recruiting, staff development and performance improvement. At her current post, she is responsible for directing executive recruiting activities across The Hartford as well as consulting to senior management within Talent Acquisition on recruiter development and training. Prior to joining The Hartford Financial Services Group, Inc., Ms. Barrett worked as Director, Learning and Development at Highland Partners for three years, as Training Manager at TMP Worldwide Executive Search for three years and as Administrative Manager for the Chicago office of LAI Worldwide for three years. Additionally, she worked at the Newberry Library for nine years in a variety of roles and was a graduate assistant at Loyola University Chicago for six years.
Talent, creativity and a strong work ethic are the driving forces behind Ms. Barrett's success. She considers leading a training and change management initiative program for a global business process re-engineering project during which she helped launch a new recruiting platform and database to 450 users in 11 countries to be her greatest professional accomplishment.
Ms. Barrett received her Master's Degree in English Literature from Loyola University Chicago and her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature from the University of Chicago. She is a former board member of the Chicagoland Chapter of the American Society for Training and Development. She is currently a member of the American Society for Training and Development, the International Society for Performance Improvement, and both the Chicago and Connecticut Chapters of the American Society for Training and Development.
