MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO, March 3, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Susan Marie Camfield, Director of Cardiac Services in the Pharmaceutical Division of Biomedical Systems, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Clinical Trial Coordination and Management. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Ms. Camfield has 17 years of professional experience in the healthcare field, nine of which have been in her current position with Biomedical Systems. At her post, she oversees 80 employees collecting diagnostic tests for clinical trials Phase I through Phase IV. The tests include standard 12-lead electrocardiograms, 3 Lead Holter recordings, 12-lead Holter recordings, ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, and cardiac event monitoring. Prior to making a career shift into clinical trial coordination and management, Ms. Camfield served for many years as an intensive care nurse, followed by several years as a Clinical Research Coordinator enrolling subjects in clinical trials. She credits her success to her work ethic, dedication and perseverance and considers having the ability to work in a challenging, ever-changing field to be the most rewarding aspect of her career.

A registered nurse, Ms. Camfield received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The University of Tulsa. She is a supporter of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the American Nurses Association.
