Beauty and brawn—throughout a career that has spanned over three decades, Olivia Theriot has commanded a mastery of both. The eldest of six children, she was encouraged by her mother to be a leader in all of her endeavors. While in high school, she served as her hometown's first African American class president. She went on to enroll in a three-year course at General Hospital 2 following her graduation, where she studied to become a nurse. Ms. Theriot joined the United States Air Force and served as a combat flight nurse during the Vietnam War. Her military efforts were awarded with five air medals, each of which was equivalent to 35 combat missions.

Following her discharge from the military, Ms. Theriot made a career transition into beauty consultancy and has enjoyed a fruitful career with Mary Kay Inc. She excels in performing makeovers and is responsible for overseeing unit members, training new consultants and managing sales. Ms. Theriot was the first woman to be awarded emeritus status by Mary Kay for independent sales—an achievement that she regards to be one of the highlights of her career.

Ms. Theriot holds a master of arts in urban studies and sociology from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. She is professionally affiliated with the San Antonio Chapter of the American Business Women's Association and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Looking to the future, she intends to focus more of her efforts on community projects and spend more time with her nieces and nephews.
